I beg to move that this house has considered government support for children developing essential skills. It's an honor to share to serve under your chairship, doctor Alan Khan. And can I just start by declaring that I am the chair of the APPG for schools, the APPG for social mobility, and the APPG for classics? And I also just wanted to say how wonderful it is to see so many, young people, coming along today in the, in the public gallery. We are facing a generational moment.
We know the risks which technology and AI increasingly pose to our world, but we also know the opportunities. And it strikes me that it is up to us to shape a generation which responds not with despondency to these challenges, but with the confidence and authority to make these tools work for humanity, not against it. Without the human skills to properly engage with, discuss, and question the world around us, we are setting our children up for failure.
