À la suite du pape François, le pape Léon XIV a déclaré « nous voulons être une Église synodale ».
Le Cardinal Hollerich, rapporteur général du synode des évêques, nous dit : « La synodalité commencera en paroisse ou elle ne sera pas. ». Cette mise en œuvre est demandée par Rome à tous les évêques et aux prêtres comme à tous les baptisés.
La synodalité, ce n’est pas faire une autre Église, mais faire Église autrement.
La synodalité implique la totalité du peuple de Dieu pour que chacun prenne part aux choix et aux décisions prises en paroisse et dans son diocèse.
