Sweden allocates $400 million to Ukraine for drone production

Copied! Sweden has announced a new $2.7 billion support package for Ukraine. As Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced, the package includes various elements aimed at strengthening the country. In particular, $400 million will go towards drone production. More than $2 billion of the support will consist of JAS 39 Gripen aircraft. Ukraine will purchase up to 20 fighters, with a further 16 to be received as military aid from Sweden. In addition, the two countries had previously agreed on the localisation of production of these aircraft in Ukraine. Sweden regularly supports Ukraine, including with air defence, long-range weapons, and ammunition. A year ago, it emerged that the country would finance the development and production of Ukrainian deep-strike weapons that strike targets on Russian territory. At the time, the military aid package in question totalled 441 million euros. Swedish private investors, meanwhile, are actively investing in Ukrainian companies.
