The US Air Force’s future ability to manage multi domain operations has just reached a new level. The service has chosen L3Harris Technologies to provide the secure communications backbone for the Advanced Battlefield Management System, or ABMS. This is widely seen as the Pentagon’s most dynamic digitalisation effort in command, control and communications data integration. The move prepares all battlefield sensors and fire support elements for a modern data architecture. It brings tactical data together in a single hub and dramatically shortens the decision loop for command and control. Under the agreement, L3Harris will work on the ABMS project, which is a key pillar of the US Air Force’s network centric warfare vision. The company will focus on strengthening the system’s data integration capabilities and its operational network architecture. The work will lay the groundwork for combining data from multiple sources in real time, a critical need on the modern battlefield. It will also help deliver a seamless, dynamic and comprehensive tactical picture to joint forces. L3Harris will bring modern data processing algorithms and next generation high speed network technologies to military networks to make this digital transformation a reality. Kathy Crandall, President of Mission Networks within L3Harris’ Space and Mission Systems division, highlighted the importance of the new infrastructure. She said, “This new digital backbone will give warfighters a much more secure, timely and directly usable flow of information. That will create a seamless link between sensors and fire support elements operating across different domains, even in complex operational environments with heavy electronic warfare threats. At L3Harris, we are bringing our deep experience in developing and operating large scale tactical communication networks to meet the toughest demands of modern military operations.” Latest Defence News Defence Industry Systems I Latest News Source: C4Defence – L3Harris Technologies L3Harris to shape the US Air Force’s ABMS Network Infrastructure yazısı ilk önce C4Defence üzerinde ortaya çıktı.
