EVENT ADVISORY: CAP To Host Washington, D.C., Premiere of ‘Take Me Home’

Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress will host the prerelease Washington, D.C., premiere of “ Take Me Home ,” a new film written and directed by Liz Sargent. The film follows Anna, a young disabled woman who helps care for her aging parents, and explores the shifting demands on her family as they navigate the U.S. health care system and the structural barriers that can push vulnerable families to the brink. Following the screening, Sargent will join disability policy experts for a conversation about the film’s themes of caregiving, independence, family, and community. “Take Me Home” won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and was part of the Berlin International Film Festival.
