Polish-Ukrainian radar startup Molfar Defence Technologies has raised €2 million in funding, Defender Media has learned from Swedish investment firm Front Ventures, which led the round.
Front Ventures invested €1.5 million and acquired a 10% stake in Molfar, valuing the company at €15 million.
The financing will be used to expand Molfar’s engineering team in radar development, signal processing and system integration. The company is also establishing an office in Ukraine to strengthen operational proximity to its primary deployment environment and accelerate collaboration with brigades already engaged in testing and validation.
Molfar was founded in 2026 by a team with extensive international experience from technology companies. Before Molfar, several of the founders worked together on some of the most advanced sensor programs in defenсe and aerospace, including quantum gyroscopes and airborne lidar systems.
Molfar Defence Technologies was created to fill a crucial gap in modern air defence architecture and is developing new radar technology for detection, focusing on low-altitude, slow-moving air threats. This gap is becoming increasingly critical as drone technology develops and “swarm tactics” emerge as a crucial element of modern warfare, placing entirely new demands on detection systems that existing radar infrastructure is not designed to meet.
At the heart of Molfar’s technology is a proprietary multidimensional structural target representation, combined with advanced signal processing algorithms that extract and interpret the target’s physical signature. The model analyses the structural signature of an aerial target, allowing the system to reliably distinguish drones from other objects in the detection zone. Built-in filters ensure stable performance regardless of weather conditions and operate in complex electromagnetic environments.
The architecture includes proprietary waveform and operating mode features designed to reduce the radar’s probability of detection and localisation by the adversary. This, combined with a wide detection range, makes Molfar’s architecture effective not only as a sensor but also as a resilient component of a broader air defence network. The company has several patent applications covering its radar detection technology.
Molfar works in close collaboration with the Ukrainian Army and one of Poland’s largest suppliers of defence and dual-use equipment, the company says.
“Molfar was created to provide defense units with early visibility into micro-drones and other small drones. We build tactical radar systems that can be placed close to the units that need them and scaled up across different defence environments,” says Maks Dzherikhov, Molfar Co-founder & CSO.

Field testing is planned in Ukraine and NATO countries to move from prototypes to validated systems approved for deployment.
