of mission, the Swiss embassy in The UK.  We're very grateful to you, for sparing us the the time this morning on this important inquiry.  We will be, taking evidence in public.  This session is broadcast, and there will be a transcript pursuit produced of it in due course.  We aim to finish after about sixty minutes.

I understand that you don't have a hard back stop, but that's certainly our intention at the moment.  In order to achieve that, I would ask everybody if the questions and the answers could be reasonably succinct while still giving all the necessary information.  So I just start off by setting you an impossible task.  I will start the session, if I may, by asking both of the ambassadors how your countries came to agree to a dynamic alignment with areas of EU law.  And if I may just expand that a little in the case of Switzerland in particular, I mean, my understanding is that the Switzerland's current arrangement with the EU does not involve dynamic alignment or any decision shaping rights, but that the new package of the Swiss EU agreement does.
