Dear colleagues, we will now deal with an AOB item related to new requirements for record keeping on plant protection products, which has been requested by Germany with the support of Austria, Czechia, Finland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, and Portugal. For this item, you have received a background note under number 8200 326. I will first give the floor to Germany, to Alois, to present this item.

Dear Madam Chair, Maria, Commissioner. In January 2026, we have referred to Regulation 2025 and there were further requirements which were added. That was on plant protection. We support the application which has to be harmonized. From our perspective, the use of these data, which includes the collection of certain stadia.

This is simply not possible. We need to have this for proper inspections. And to the use of planter production have an additional bureaucratic hurdle. This is particularly true for vegetable farmers or tree or agriculture, and that is important in all the areas, including in the nurseries. I think that we need to simplify things in plant protection without undermining or jeopardizing the purpose of this regulation.
