Good afternoon, Let's start our meeting. Warm welcome to all of you for this joint budget E Committee. If there are no objections to the agenda, then I deem the agenda adopted. You. The Chair's announcements, you have interpretation in a truckload of languages.
And secondly, I also wish to inform you that coordinators representing a majority of the joint BUDGE Econ committees decided that they do not wish to follow-up on the proposal made by Mr. Oliveira for a union act to extend RRF implementation. Butch and Ekom will therefore not request to draw up an own initiative report on this topic. That being said, we can go to the main point or main agenda point for today, the public hearing on InvestEU, the lessons learned and the future perspective. I'm delighted to welcome our four speakers.
On the first panel, we have Ms. Zervinska, Vice President of the European Investment Bank and Mr. Kasselmann, CEO of Belgium's PMV and member of the InvestEU Steering Board on behalf of the Association of European Long Term Investors. On the second panel, we have Mr. Huemer, Director of Economic and Fiscal Policy at SME United and Ms.
Rodriguez Rivera, Associate from Climate Strategy and Partners. This is a very timely topic that we are discussing today for basically two reasons. First of all, have before us a commission proposal to revise the Invest EU regulation, which is part of the commission's simplification package and also seeks to increase the EU guarantee and make it more efficient. Secondly, we need to look forward to the next MFF in which budgetary guarantees will evidently play a crucial role. The interim evaluation of Invest EU stressed that budgetary guarantees are an efficient use of public funds.
