So, colleagues, sorry, the service I had to wait. So anyway, I'm happy to be here. Great to see you. Dear colleagues, the first point is the adoption of the agenda. If there are no amendments, the agenda of the meeting can be adopted.
Thank you very much. So let's start. First of all, dear colleagues, let me begin by really warmly welcoming and thanking Andrews Kobilius, Commissioner for Defense and Space, for being with us today. DeAndreus, it has become increasingly clear, not only in recent years, but especially in the last few months, that European defense lies at the very heart of every discussion and political agenda. Within our institutions, among our national governments and with our partners, both long standing and new.
In recent weeks, we have seen the commission proposal several new initiatives and amendments to EU regulations aimed at placing defense at the center and equipment member states to address current challenges. While new funding is vital, we must focus on the primary goals supporting Ukraine and addressing fragmentation to create a more efficient, coherent European defense with more systematic demand, aggregation, harmonized requirements, joint procurement and rapid industrial ramp up. At the same time, need to continue working on long term ambitions EU defense project, which require resources and complexity beyond the capacity of individual member states. And so, DeAndre, without further delay, I am pleased to give you the floor. I would invite you to expand in particular on the implementation of the EU Defense Readiness 02/1930 agenda, starting with the so called mini Omnibus package, which envisaged Target amendments to exciting EU funding programs as well as the new initiatives that will follow.
