So good afternoon, everyone. Welcome to the forty fourth session of our inter parliamentary meeting. I'm very happy to chair this meeting with my colleague, Thomas Asche, and I'm looking forward to very constructive negotiations and exchanges that you will have. I have to apologize on behalf of two of my colleagues that wanted to be here in time, but maybe for reasons that easily to be explained later, join us later. So also in their name, I would like to say, Krutzi Wolff.
I should make some opening remarks because officially, although we are treating each other on the same level, officially, I'm chairing this meeting. And therefore, with the agreement of my colleague, Thomas, I would like to say that I wish you a very good afternoon, a warm welcome to the chair of the Swiss delegation, colleague, Thomas Esche, and to all the distinguished members of the Swiss Federal Assembly and of my colleagues of the European Parliament here. Especially a welcome also to our guest speakers, Ambassador Rita and mister von Lingen over there. And this is important because the forty fourth you will speak as well. Ambassador, I'm sorry.
I haven't seen you on my list, but I want send you also a warm welcome to you. The fourth forty fourth gathering underlines how highly boast is with federal assembly and the European parliament value our long standing cooperation and partnership. Good, stable relations remain essential for both sides. Since our last meeting, the negotiations have completed the work. And even if only a few had already a chance to watch it concretely, I'm sure that in a few days, everyone can see how well they have worked and how balanced the agreement is.
And therefore, the package of the stabilization agreement that should deepen and widen EU Swiss corporation always respecting sovereignty of Switzerland, from energy to health and single market access and research programs is of utmost importance to all of us. Both parliaments now await publication of the legal text so that detailed scrutiny and public debate can begin. Translating negotiation negotiated language into democratic acceptance is an important decisive step. And therefore, also, only a few members of this house were able to have a first look on the text because the legal scrubbing is still about to be finalized. Reaching this point after the breakdown of the institutional framework agreement talks in 2021 shows real commitment on both sides.
