Built Environment Committee House of Lords

For

Good morning, and welcome back to the House of Lords built environment select committee.  This is bringing to an end, sadly, our inquiry, our short inquiry into the role of younger people in the built environment.  And we've had some excellent sessions in the past, and today, we'll continue with that with some star witnesses that we've got before us to look at cultivating and growing younger people's interest in the built environment, mainly through play, but also through gaming as well.  I've got four witnesses, which I think is a record number of witnesses.  So it's a very heavy session, but we've got four great witnesses.

I've got Sara Karandace from ARUP, the associate director of ARUP, who's joining us online.  I've got James Delaney, who is the founder of, Blockworks, and Huyn Rimington, the founder of the Build Up Foundation, and doctor Neil Chazore, who's the founder at the School of Building.  Thank you all so much for coming before us.  It's something I know that you care about passionately.  It's something that we are very interested in and is a very exciting session ahead of us.

I think as much as we all can, can we try and keep our questions and answers as short and as concise as possible?  If you don't know the answers, please don't feel compelled to fill the time.  If you want to write to us, please go ahead and do so.  You're more than welcome.  But with that, I'm going to start the questions first with Vacant Junga.
