Order. Order. Can I welcome our witnesses to this one off session that we're holding, to explore the work of the grooming gangs inquiry? We're very, very grateful to have the chair and two panel members from the, for the inquiry with us today. We have a number of questions, but I think perhaps if, Barris Longfield, you'd like to introduce yourself first.

Yeah. I'm Anne Longfield, and I'm the chair of the inquiry. And I was a peer, but I am on the leave of absence for the period of inquiry and have been, for many decades, looking at children's issues and advocating, six of which were as children's commissioner, which the last date of the year was the COVID inquiry. So delighted to be doing this. It's a job that I think we all agree absolutely needs doing and needs doing very well, and that's the task we set ourselves.
Thank you.

Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Eleanor Kelly. I spent fifty years in and around local government before retiring in 2022, following ten years as the chief executive of the London Borough Of Southwark. And like Anne and Zoe, I feel really sort of, like, passionately that the lessons need to be learned and things need to change in relation to all of the institutions and organizations, that have failed to, listen and to act and to change over the whole of that the whole of the thirty year period that we're gonna be examining.
