Thank you, sir.  And, can I just begin by saying it's a pleasure to serve under your chairmanship of the committee?  It's the first time that you and I have, have, been in the same room in this context, and, and I just wanted to recognize that.  I beg to move that the Committee has considered that the draft Agriculture DeLinked Payment Reductions England regulations 2026, were laid before the House on the March 10, be considered.  This instrument sets the reductions that will apply to delinked payments for England for the years 2026 and 2027.

In doing so, it delivers to phase out these subsidies by the end of the seven year agricultural transition period.  As we redirect funding to our other schemes for farmers, 2027 will be the last year of de linked payments.  The Government is committed to supporting our farmers and the vital role they play.  We will continue to invest in our farmers and land managers to make their businesses, food production and our country more sustainable and resilient in the years ahead.  Reducing delinked payments is essential so that we can fund our other schemes which help us to achieve this.
