Thank you, Chair. It's a pleasure as ever to serve under your chairship. I beg to move that the committee has considered the non domestic rating, rates retention and levy and safety net miscellaneous amendments regulations 2026. The Government is delivering long overdue funding reforms for the English government and introducing improvements to realign funding with need and deprivation as part of the first multi year settlement in a decade. A key element of these reforms is the reset of the business rates retention system, a central component of the local government finance framework.
