So before we start, there are a number of announcements I need to make. So where will everyone ensure that their their electronic devices are turned off to switch to silent mode? We now begin line by line consideration of the bill. The selection list of today's sitting is available in the room on the parliament and on the parliamentary website. This shows how clauses, schedules, and selected amendments have been grouped together for debate.
A reminder that a member who has put their name to a lead amendment in a group is called first, or in the case of stand part debate, the minister will be called to speak first. Other members are then free to indicate they wish to if they wish they speak in the current debate by a bobbing. Hansard colleagues would be grateful if members could email their speaking notes to [email protected] or alternatively pass their notes to the Hansard colleague in the room. At the end of the debate, on a group of amendments and new clauses and schedules, I shall call the member who moved the lead amendment or new clause again. Before they sit down, they will need to indicate if they wish to withdraw the amendment or seek a decision.
