Communications and Digital Committee House of Lords
00:02 - 00:31
Speaker 6
Good afternoon and welcome to this meeting of the Communications and Digital Committee. Today we continue our work on the BBC Charter Review. In this session we'll be focusing on the role the BBC plays in supporting the UK's creative sector and how its next charter can enable it to do that more effectively. I'd like to welcome our panel and thank them for joining us, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts in today's discussion. Before we move onto questions, could I ask each of you to introduce yourselves and the organisations you represent?
So, we'll start with this side.

Yeah, of course, so my name is Ed Shedd. You're allowed to chuckle at that name if you'd like. I am the chair of Create Central. So we're a public-private body reporting to the Mayor of the West Midlands. We're an industry-led network and kind of equity funder for the creative sector and our role is to turbocharge investment into the West Midlands creative sector.
