Order.  Order.  Welcome to this afternoon's evidence session of the Education Select Committee's inquiry on reading for pleasure.  Before, I ask our witnesses to introduce ourselves, are there any declarations that I think there are this afternoon from members of the committee?  In in which case, can I ask our witnesses, to introduce yourselves, to the committee, starting with professor O'Farley?

Hello everyone.  My name is Professor Christina Farley.  I'm a research professor at the Peddle Centre, the Centre for Research and Play, Education Development and Learning.  We're at the University of Cambridge and we do a range of work there.  My work is focused on developing, testing, scaling and widening access to support for evidence based support and evidence informed support for children and families in the early years so that young children, babies and young children can thrive.

A lot of that work involves parenting programs and parenting interventions and we work in a very multidisciplinary way.  So I'm a research psychologist by background but I work with a range of different professionals and collaborators.  Thank you.  Thank you.  Frank Young.
