54321.  Welcome everyone to this morning's session of the Public Accounts Committee.  The the committee this morning is going to look at the issue of land and land for building houses and where and there's a shortage of that land in some cases.  And the Ministry of Housing, Community Local Government, supports programs to boost the supply of land, particularly that land which is, classified as being locked for various reasons, and immediately unavailable.  The the ministry is responsible for the programs together with Homes England and narrow strategic authorities in various parts of the country and has allocated £10,500,000,000 since 1617 to provide land for over 700,000 homes, and recently launched a new fund to bring the other funds together, the National Housing Fund with £20,000,000,000 plus in it.

However, the it isn't just about building homes, it's about unlocking land for wider uses, particularly regeneration as well.  So today, we'll be looking at what progress has been made with spending these funds and the land that has been unlocked and what homes have been built on that land.  And we're gonna get an update about the new fund, the National Housing Delivery Fund, and see how that's working and how it intends to work.  We're going to look at how the ministry works alongside Holmes England and may all combined authorities to deliver these programs as well.  So this morning, we have with us permanent secretary for the ministry, Dane Sarah Healy.

Welcome, Sarah.  Could you introduce your colleagues, and then we can start the questions then.

Absolutely.  With me from Holmes England, I have Alison Crofton and Amy Rees, the chief executive.  I think it's Alison's first time in front of the It is.  DAC.  And then on my left, I've got my director general for housing and regeneration, Joanna Key, and Kathy Francis, also who works in her team.
