Speaker 1
Welcome to the meeting of the culture, media, and sports select committee.  Today, we've got two panels looking at different aspects of TV and video content for children and young people.  In our first panel, we're hearing from broadcasters.  So can I please welcome Louise Bucknell, who is the senior vice president for kids and family at Paramount UK and Ireland, and Ian France, is head of kids content at Sky?  Welcome to you both.

Before we begin, can I remind members to declare any interests at the point that they ask their question?  Louise, you're here as Paramount, which means that you're wearing more than one hat.  So for the record, before we kick off, can you just very briefly explain what Milkshake is and how it relates to Five and Nickelodeon and to any other parts of Paramount Empire which you've got responsibilities just so that we understand where we can go with our questions, please.

Yeah.  Sure.  So at Paramount, we're really committed to kids content.  Milkshake on channel five is the only PSB preschool brand that's on the main channel every day.  We're across linear TV streaming, pay TV digital platforms, but also on Paramount plus and YouTube as well.

So we're a preschool brand.  We're 25 years old.  We have UK originations on the platform.  We're absolutely jewel in the crown of channel five, really part of the DNA of our p the PSB remit.  We're really proud of our commissioning strategy on channel five for for Milkshake with high end content.
