European Commission Commission européenne

00:01 - 00:28
Intervenant 7
Thank you.  Kieran Sundland from Context.  My question concerns energy policy, specifically the methane regulation.  I would like to ask the Commission for an update on the timing of the forthcoming recommendations on implementing this legislation.  Thank you.
00:28 - 01:02
Intervenant 5
So as a follow-up to the December Energy Council last year, the Commission has been working on recommendations that have to do with the implementation of the methane regulation.  This work is now very well advanced.  We will hopefully be able to present them in due course, but I do not have any date to give you, but we will stay in touch on this and you will surely be informed once the work is there.  Yes, Nicolas.
01:02 - 01:21
Intervenant 3
Thank you so much.  Nicolas Camut for Euractiv.  While we're on the topic, does the Commission have an estimate, given that there's some estimates out there, for how much of the EU's oil supply and gas supply is conceivably affected by both MRV requirements and potential fines down the line?
01:21 - 01:52
Intervenant 4
So you're asking me for these numbers, these estimates.  I don't have them here.  I mean, for sure we are looking into and keeping a very close eye on all kinds of consequences, given especially the situation we are now preparing these recommendations in.  It's a charged, challenging environment for the energy sector, given the current geopolitical developments, but I do not have such figures to give here now.
