Good afternoon and welcome to our midday briefing. A few announcements to share with you before we take your questions. Well, first of all, it's 1st of July, which means it's not just another month, but it's also the first day of the presidency of the Irish Presidency of the Council. And we'd like to use this opportunity to wish best of luck and success to our colleagues in the Irish Permanent Representation and in Ireland for the six months ahead. Ireland has a packed agenda and we look forward to working with the presidency to deliver it.
And of course, a big thank you also to the Cypriot Council Presidency that concluded yesterday with a lot of work successfully accomplished. Now, allow me to bring to your attention a table which we just published on Press Corner and that you will find at the bottom of the Daily News. This table outlines EU legislation which enters into force or becomes applicable between today, 1st of July, and 15th of August 2026, as well as the transposition deadlines for Member States. And we thought this planning overview could help you precisely plan for possible reporting when different pieces of legislation enter into force or become applicable. And going forward, we will be updating and publish every new version of this table on the very first working day of the month.
So, we hope you'll find this tool useful. Enfin, permettez-moi de vous rappeler qu'un briefing technique off the record aura lieu à midi et demi aujourd'hui ici dans la salle de presse sur les politiques de la Commission en matière d'adaptation au changement climatique, de chauffage et de climatisation. Or in English, we thought of calling it "Feel the heat, keep your cool: Commission's climate adaptation, heating and cooling policies explained". Et ceci parce qu'on a bien constaté un grand intérêt à ce sujet suite à la grande vague de chaleur qui on a subi la semaine prochaine et qui sera peut-être et vraisemblablement pas la dernière. Donc on va garder notre midday un peu plus court de façon à pouvoir entamer directement avec ce briefing technique et des experts qui seront à votre disposition.
