Thank you very much, Prime Minister, dear Nikol, hi.  It's good to be back indeed in Yerevan, it's the second time as you said in less than two months and that speaks to the strength of our partnership and personal friendship.  And at the beginning of course I want to congratulate you on the elections, I want to congratulate the Armenian people, that the Armenian people who have chosen democracy, peace and moving closer to Europe.  And this is a big step and a vote of confidence where I'm really grateful for.  I'm aware of the fact that not everybody likes us getting closer to each other, so that we are well aware that Russia is trying to pressure Armenia not to get too close to the European Union.

You will not let that happen, we know that, and we will support you.  And therefore I'm here today also to be very clear that if Russia closes its market for Armenian products, the European Union is opening the door for Armenian products to a single market of the European Union of 450 million consumers.  We want to support our friends, we want to support the peace process that is ongoing, I also want to commend you for that.  And therefore we also want to invest in connectivity projects that connect the European Union, the South Caucasus and Central Asia, and there Armenia plays a vital role thanks to its geography.  And these investments, we have provided now 200 million euros that can leverage up to 2 billion, are important for the connectivity in this region and thus for the stability also of our partnership and friendship.

Thank you very much for hosting me here today and very much looking forward to our discussion.
