Can I start? Great. Very good. Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Palestine Donor Group signing ceremony gathering contributors to the PEGASE mechanism to provide financial support to the Palestinian Authority. The signing ceremony will be followed by another part, another segment with the participants of the Team Gaza initiative that aims at coordinating international efforts in support of early recovery projects in Gaza.
PEGASE is a clear sign of the commitment of the EU, its Member States and partners to the Palestinian Authority. Since 2008, PEGASE has been used by 21 donors and has provided over 3.8 billion euros, and this commitment continues. At today's meeting, we are welcoming additional pledges of 41.7 million euros. This comes in addition to pledges made previously during the first Palestine Donor Group meeting in last November, and in addition to the EU commitment in support for 2026-2027 through PEGASE, a support of 310 million euros. So, the Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, will invite EU Member States and partner countries that have or are about to commit new financial contributions since the last meeting of the Palestine Donor Group in November to the Palestinian Authority through PEGASE.
So, the contributors can sign and formalize their contributions. These countries are Spain, Denmark, Cyprus, Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and Belgium. We will witness signatures between the relevant parties that will mark these contributions and we will also welcome the commitments already made in the past. I first invite to the table Commissioner Šuica as well as His Excellency Estephan Salameh, Minister of Finance and Planning, to start with the first signature, and this first signature will be witnessed by the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Mohammad Mustafa.
