European Commission Commission européenne

00:00 - 00:36
Intervenant 4
Ah, thank you.  Just on the Trump administration signing MFN deals overnight.  I'm just wondering what this means for Europe in the long term if they keep signing these deals.  Are they siphoning investment from here?  And is the Commission going to move faster to respond to some of these deals before, you know, we have the Biotech Act coming, but that could take years to come in?

By then investment decisions have been made.  So is there anything else in the pipeline or some sort of unified response that you're looking at to combat some of the investment leaving Europe?

Intervenant 2
Okay, so that is a different type of question, more trade-related.  So I'll see if we have anything to be said there.  Otherwise, from your point of view?
00:46 - 01:44
Intervenant 3
Yes, I am not sure if Olof wants to take it from the trade perspective.  What I can say is that we obviously closely monitor the implementation of the US Most Favored Nation policy and any potential effects on the European market.  You know that Europe is the second largest pharmaceutical market in the world.  And our priority is obviously to ensure that patients get timely access to safe, effective, and affordable medicines.  We have just been tasked in June before the summer by the Member States to prepare some kind of an overview of the pricing policies and of the impact of US pharmaceutical pricing policies.
