I declare open this public hearing of the standing committee on health, aged care, and disabilities inquiry into the Thriving Kids initiative. I'd like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands from which we meet today and pay my respects to their ancestor and elders past, present, and emerging. I extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in their cultural and spiritual connections to Australia's lands and waters and also to all the, indigenous people of their own electorates, particularly mine and the Stanleys, the Darrell people, and, thank them for all their support. In accordance with the committee's resolution of the 08/21/2025, this hearing will be broadcast in the parliament's website, and the proof and official transcripts of proceedings will be published on the inquiry website. I remind members of the media of the need to fairly and accurately report the proceedings of the committee.
