I now declare open the public hearing of the standing committee on education's inquiry into building education capability in Australia through the education system and beyond. I acknowledge the traditional custodians the lands in which we meet today and pay respects to the elders past and present of indigenous peoples all across Australia. This hearing will be audio broadcast and a transcript of proceedings will be published on the parliament's website. I invite members of the committee present here today to introduce themselves.
