19:24 - 20:21
Speaker 13
Public hearing of the Trade Subcommittee of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade for the inquiry into strengthening Australia's trade and investment relations with Africa. I would like to begin by acknowledging the traditional owners of the land on which we meet today, and I would like to pay my respects to elders past and present. I also acknowledge the cultures of any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people present with us today. This hearing will be broadcast on the parliament's website, and the proof and official transcripts of the proceedings will be published on the committee's web
Page. I now welcome representatives from the Australian Advocacy Centre and Western Sydney University to give evidence today. For the Hansard record, would you please state your names and the capacity in which you appear before the Trade Subcommittee?
