Speaker 36
Something else here. When I worked in... Well, two things. Here in Tasmania, thirty years ago, I... Actually, I had the courtesy...
The opportunity to take John Howard around Hong Kong at the time I was working there. Now going back when Martin Bryant shot and killed 30 people at Port Arthur in Tasmania. I'm sure everybody can recall that. Now he was able to... As the prime minister of Australia, he changed the gun legislation.
From memory, it was about two to three weeks. Now that was a horrendous loss of life. Now that's life now. What we're talking about here right now is business. This is a horrific impact on Australian legitimate business.
So I'm just sort of relating what happened then. And then also in Hong Kong, going back twenty five years ago when I was there, it was called Parallel Imports. Now this related to Coca Cola and Colgate toothpaste. Now a parallel import is not dissimilar. You could actually categorize cigarettes as the same thing.
