Joint Standing Committee on Migration Australian Parliament
16:09 - 17:36
Speaker 5
Good morning. I declare open this public hearing of the joint standing committee on migration for the inquiry into the value of skilled migration to Australia in Sydney. I welcome all witnesses appearing before the committee today as well as members of the public and media in the room and listening online. This is the committee's fifth public hearing for this inquiry. The inquiry, of course, is looking into skilled migration into Australia, and we'd ask our witnesses to keep their comments within the terms of reference and relevant to the terms of reference of the of the inquiry.
In accordance with the committee's resolution of the 07/31/2025, this hearing will be broadcast on the parliament's website, and the proof and official transcripts of the proceedings will be published on the parliament's website. Those present are advised that filming and recording by the media is permitted during the hearing. However, we ask that members of the media present or listening report the committee's proceedings fairly and accurately. I'll now welcome our first witness, mister Haydermota.
