House Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs Australian Parliament
15:33 - 16:15
Speaker 30
Claire opened the public hearings of standing the committee on social policy and legal affairs inquiry into the relationship between domestic family and sexual violence and suicide. I'd like to acknowledge the traditional and original owners of this land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples, and pay respect to those who passed before us and to acknowledge today's Victorian Aboriginal people who are custodians of the land. I extend this respect to all Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander peoples and their cultural and spiritual connections to Australia's land and waters. This hearing will be broadcast, and the transcript of proceedings will be published on the parliament's website. For those in person or listening online, please be advised that this hearing may contain evidence that could cause distress.
