On the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties for its inquiry into the agreement between Australia and The United Kingdom Of Spain for the mutual protection of classified information of defense interests. I begin by acknowledging the traditional custodians on the land on which we meet and pay respect to elders by past and present. I'd also like to extend that respect to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people joining us today. In accordance with the committee's resolution of 07/31/2025, this hearing will be broadcast, and proof and official transcripts of the proceedings will be published on the parliament's website. I remind all present as chair that the proceedings will be conducted in an orderly, respectful, and courteous way.
