Joint Standing Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs Australian Parliament
00:00 - 00:45
Speaker 9
Peoples, in their in their cultural and spiritual connections to Australia's lands and waters. In accordance with the committee's resolution on 08/06/2025, this hearing will be broadcast on the parliament's website, and the proof and official transcripts of proceedings will publish on the inquiry website. Any any answers to questions on those taken at this public hearing will also be published on the committee's website. I remind members of the media who may be present or listening online of the need to fairly and accurately report the proceedings of the committee. I now call on representatives from the Larrakeer Nation Aboriginal Corporation to give evidence.
For the Hansard record, would you please state your full name and the capacity at which you appear?
00:46 - 00:50
Speaker 12
Michael Rodhama, chief executive officer, Larrakea Nation Aboriginal Corporation.
00:50 - 01:18
Speaker 9
Thank you very much. I've got a little spiel that I have to read out before each of the witnesses, so if you bear with me. Although the committee does not require you to give evidence under oath, I should advise you that this this hearing is a legal proceeding of the parliament and therefore has the same standing as proceedings of the respective houses. The giving of false or misleading evidence is a serious matter and may be regarded as a contempt of parliament. The evidence given today will be recorded by Hansard and attracts parliamentary privilege and is being broadcast live.
