12:19 - 13:27
Speaker 17
This hearing of the senate select committee on productivity in Australia. I begin by acknowledging the traditional custodians. Committee will be conducting today's hearing in person via video conference. I'm senator Bragg chair. I'm joined by senator Dominant and senator Ananda Raja.
These are public proceedings which are being streamed live via the parliamentary website, and there'll be a hand side transcript. All witnesses should be aware that in giving evidence to this committee, they are protected by parliamentary privilege. It's unlawful for anyone to threaten or disadvantage witness on account of evidence given to a committee, and such action may be treated by the senate as contempt. It is also a contempt to give false or misleading evidence. Witnesses have a right to be heard in camera should they request.
I remind senators of their obligations under the behavior code for parliamentarians to treat witnesses with dignity, courtesy, fairness, and respect. I remind committee members and witnesses who are not currently speaking to please mute your microphones and now welcome representatives from the ANZ Banking Group live via video conference. I understand the information on privilege and the protection of witnesses giving evidence to senate committees has been provided to you. The hands of record, please state your name and capacity in which you appear.
