Speaker 28
I now welcome representatives from the Department of Health. Thank you for coming in sooner. Thank you for your flexibility. We were going to offer online to get you here, but we heard you were already in the car. So thank you.
Senators resolved that an officer of a department of the Commonwealth or of a state shall not be asked to give opinions on a matter of policy and shall be given reasonable opportunity to refer questions asked of the officer to superior officers or a minister. The resolution does not preclude questions asking for explanations of how policies or factual questions about when and how policies were adopted. Understand that information on parliamentary privilege and protection of witnesses giving estimates or giving evidence to Senate committees has been provided. Correct? Is that right?
Yep, done. For the Hansard record, starting at the left, can we please have our full names and the capacity in which you appear today?
17:05 - 17:10
Speaker 3
Yeah, Melinda Turner, I'm the first assistant secretary of the First Nations Health Division at the department.
