Speaker 7
I begin by acknowledging the traditional custodians on the land on which we meet today, pay my respects to elders both past and present. I also extend that respect to any First Nations people joining us today. In accordance with the committee's resolution of 31 July 2025, this hearing will be broadcast and proof in official transcripts of the proceedings will be published on the Parliament's website. I remind all present that as chair, I will ensure the proceedings are conducted in an orderly, respectful and courteous way.
I remind all members of the media for the need for fair and accurate reporting of the proceedings of the committee. I'd like to call our witnesses for today's hearing. I welcome representatives of the Department of Defence and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Defence Force to give evidence today. For the Hansard record, would you please state your full name and the capacity in which you are appearing before the committee.
