Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs & Trade Australian Parliament
20:51 - 21:41
Speaker 2
All right. Good morning. I declare open this public hearing of the Foreign Affairs and Aid Subcommittee of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade for the inquiry into the role of Australia's international development program in preventing conflict. I would like to begin this morning by acknowledging the traditional owners on the land on which we meet today, and I'd like to pay my respects to elders past and present, and also acknowledge the cultures of any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples present with us here today. This hearing will be broadcast on the Parliament's website and transcripts of the proceedings will be published on the committee's webpage.
I now invite the representative from the Australian Civil Society Coalition on Women, Peace and Security to give evidence today. For the benefit of the Hansard record, would you please state your name and the capacity in which you appear before the committee?
21:41 - 21:52
Speaker 3
Sure. My name is Ludmilla Kwitko, and I'm the co-chair of the Australian Civil Society Coalition for Women, Peace and Security, which I'll abbreviate to the WPS Coalition.
21:52 - 21:58
Speaker 2
Very good. Well, thank you for attendance today and thank you for accommodating with rescheduling for another appearance.
