Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade Australian Parliament
15:14 - 16:02
Speaker 1
Well, good morning, everyone. I now declare open this public hearing of the Foreign Affairs and Aid Subcommittee of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade for the inquiry into the role of Australia's international development program on preventing conflict. I would like to begin by acknowledging the traditional owners of the land on which we meet today. I'd like to pay my respects to elders past and present, and also acknowledge the cultures of any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with us here today.
This hearing will be broadcast on the Parliament's website and a transcript of proceedings will be published on the committee's webpage. I now welcome representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Department of Defence to give evidence today. For the Hansard record, would you please begin by stating your name and the capacity in which you appear before the committee.
16:02 - 16:11
Speaker 10
