Environment and Climate Change Committee House of Lords
00:05 - 01:10
Speaker 4
Good morning, and welcome to the Lord's Committee on the Environment and Climate Change. Today is the first session about inquiry into pet parasite medications, and we will be hearing evidence from ENGOs and research institutes. Before we start, may I remind everyone that the session will be webcast live on Parliament TV and that a transcript will be taken and made public. Witnesses will have an opportunity to review the transcript and make very minor amendments if necessary. And members are reminded that all relevant interests should be declared the first time they speak, and that also applies to our witnesses.
I will take the opportunity here to say that I'm a director of peers for The Planet. So, let me start by thanking our witnesses for taking the time to be with us today. It really is very much appreciated. And may I ask them to briefly introduce themselves, starting with Matthew Shardlow.
01:10 - 01:30
Speaker 16
I am Matt Shardlow. I discovered this issue in The UK when I was doing some work on neon ignorance a while ago. I'm an independent consultant, I've just completed a major review of this topic for wildlife linking, which I made 46 recommendations to fix the problem of flea treatment pollution in water courses and the environment.
01:32 - 01:39
Speaker 4
May I ask you just to lean into the mic, and then we will be able to hear you even more clearly. Professor Woodward.
