Education Committee and Work and Pensions Committee House of Commons
00:04 - 00:45
Speaker 8
Welcome to this oral evidence session, which is a joint evidence session of the Education Select Committee and the Work and Pensions Select Committee. This is the final evidence session in the joint inquiry of the two committees on child poverty, scrutinising the government's child poverty strategy, and we are pleased this morning to welcome ministers from both the Department for Education and the Department for Work and Pensions, together with officials from the Department for Work and Pensions, to answer questions from members. Ministers, can I ask you to introduce yourselves and then perhaps the officials after that, perhaps starting with you, Liv Bailey, if that's okay?
00:45 - 00:54
Speaker 1
Hello, I'm really pleased to be here today, nice to see you all. I'm Liv Bailey, I'm Minister for Early Education in the Department for Education, and I co-chair the child poverty inter-ministerial group with Diana.
00:54 - 01:08
Speaker 4
And I'm Diana Johnson, I'm the Minister for Education, sorry, the Minister for Education, the Minister for Employment in the Department of Work and Pensions and co-chair the inter-ministerial group with Liv.
01:08 - 01:18
Speaker 3
I'm James Wolfe, I'm the Director for Poverty and Universal Credit Policy in DWP, and previously I was a director in the child poverty unit in the Cabinet Office.
