One. Good morning, and welcome to this meeting of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 committee, which is a post legislative scrutiny committee. And what does that mean? It means that a piece of legislation concerning domestic abuse was enacted in 2021, and that's now five years ago. And so what we're doing is that we have a a house of lords committee looking at the impact of that legislation and to see whether it's working and achieving the aims of of parliament.
And so it's a great opportunity to hear from people with great expertise, and and we have them with us today. We have with us Jeannie Lynch, and let me just tell you about our, incredible lineup of, of people with expertise. Jeanie has been the program manager for CoLab women's program since it began in began in 2017, so nine years ago. She's the deputy chair of Safe Exeter, the local community safe part partnership. And just to let you know the full scale of her expertise and and how it is valued, Jeannie won the police and criminal crime commissioner's award at the West Country's Women's Awards for her outstanding work in combating violence against women and girls.
And and she was commended for its leading work in setting up the women's center for Exeter. So, Jeannie, it's great to have you with us. Thank you. We also have with us, actually, the room, Alex Atkinson. And Alex is the director of operations at Safenet Domestic Abuse Services.
And Alex has twenty eight years of experience of leadership and management within the specialist domestic abuse sector. And she has been working for SafeNet as part of what's called the Calico Group, and and they provide services to a wide community. It's wonderful to have you here, Alex.
