Intervenant 1
May focused on the users of the network, the public safety, schools, libraries and businesses and nonprofit organizations. This en banc will look at the state's communications grid from a provider perspective with a focus on how to make broadband more affordable to low income households, how to increase broadband deployment to tribal lands and rural areas, how cities and providers are working together to deploy broadband in new ways that increase competition, and how providers are finding new backup power solutions for communications networks that reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as through microgrids and fuel cells. I want to thank first the moderators and the panelists who've taken given us their time in preparing for this event and coming all the way up here today to participate. And obviously, expect a very informative and exciting series of discussions. Each of these panels could easily take a whole day or several days.
So, to the short amount of time we have, which is just around an hour, I would ask that the panelists and moderators keep their comments succinct and to the point. The idea is for each moderator give a very brief introduction of the panelists and then dive into questions. After about thirty minutes, the moderator will then hand over the questions to the commissioners and if they have questions, then we'll just have a question and answer session. If there's time left over, we'll have time for public comment. But if there is no time for public comment, we are also going to be accepting written comments.
We'll be doing that through next Friday, March 13. And I'll provide the email address for that later. We have timekeepers over to the left who are charged with reminding the panels the remaining time if Yeah. And then, I wanna thank the following people for making this event happen. Sunshine Palma, Jonathan Lackritz, Glenn Gollman, Jessica Honeyfield, Devla Singh, Phil Ennis, Karen Eckersley, Michael Pierce, Cindy McReynolds, Agnes Conless, Brent Jolley, Jim Haiden, Kim Hwa, Helen Miskevich, Terry Prosper, Julie Hall and the IT staff for streaming and archiving this event.
Thank you. President Batcher.
