Thank you, madam chairman. And it's a pleasure to serve under your chairman, chairwomanship. And I beg to move that the committee consider conservation of habitats and species offshore wind amendment, etcetera, regulation twenty twenty six, which was laid before this House on the February 26. These regulations are a critical part in delivering the government's clean power mission. This mission is central to strengthening The U.
K. Energy security, reducing household energy bills, supporting long term economic growth and tackling climate change. Offshore wind plays an increasingly important role in delivering that energy security at a time when it matters more than ever. This SI provides a vital opportunity to accelerate offshore wind deployment while also delivering meaningful strategic benefits for our marine environment, reflecting this government's belief that climate action and nature recovery must go hand in hand. I will begin by outlining the challenges these regulations are intended to address.
