Order, order. This is a session of the International Development Committee. I'm sitting in today for our chair, Sarah Champion MP. This session has been organized in the wake of the committee's visit to the region being postponed, and we're very grateful for all our witnesses stepping in at short notice. We very much understand if there are topics that you do not wish to speak about on the record, and if so, we're of course open to private written correspondence submissions from you if this is the case.
So we're aware that some of the information as well shared will be distressing, so if anyone would like to take a moment out before rejoining the session, that's absolutely fine as well. So thank you once again to our panel for joining us today. I'm going to move to questions. Sam, if you'd like to start.

Sure, thank you, and thank you everyone for being with us. Allegra, we've met before in Bethlehem with Yaka, but my first question's for Ori. It's a simple starter really, just to give us, if you could just give us a brief update on the recent developments in the West Bank.

Speaker 3
Yes, of course, and first of all, thank you all for having me. I'm Ori Givati, I'm the Director of International Relations at B'Tselem, the Israeli Center for Information and Human Rights in the occupied Palestinian territories. Look, when we're looking at the West Bank, we are seeing an overall assault against Palestinians by Israel in all realms of life, okay? We're talking about killings, we're talking about displacement, we're talking about demolitions, we're talking about basically roadblocks. Basically today, before I'll go into the details, I think it's very important to understand that Palestinians in the West Bank live under a constant threat.
