Good morning, President Batcher and Commissioners, and thank you to everyone who has joined us virtually today. The California Public Utilities Commission is hosting this public workshop to hear from PG and E about impacts of trees that are tall enough to fall on electric overhead distribution lines and involve tree overstrike exposure that may increase the necessity to call public safety power shutoff. We understand that commissioners may attend all or part of the session as their schedules allow. I'm Joyce Steingas, senior engineer with the CPUC energy division. I'm joined by Tony Knoll, Program Manager for the Wildfire Safety and Enforcement Branch of the CPUC Safety and Enforcement Division.
Shelby Chase, Senior Analyst with Tony's Branch, join me in moderating the questions and answers section today. Before we get underway, let's welcome our colleagues from the California office of emergency services because we have Mike Maffoni, director of response for the North Region, and please welcome from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, CAL FIRE's battalion chief Jeff Fuentes. He's affiliated with CAL FIRE's utility fire mitigation unit. We welcome assistant director Smithsonian battalion chief Fuentes to join in the dialogue or in the q and a segment during the panel, and we appreciate their sharing their knowledge and expertise today. From PG and E, they have a team led by Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, Samit Singh, and some of PG and E's presenters will include Scott Strenfel, who's PG and E's chief meteorologist and manager for meteorology and fireside.
PG and E brought Jake Siegelman to speak on customer impact. He's the senior director of local customer experience. And Tracy Marakutalam is with us. She's the director of public Safety Power Shutoff. We appreciate that PG and has made available other executives and experts from their company who might join during Q and A.
