Okay.  I'd be delighted.  Welcome, everybody.  Sorry we've had a little technical glitches, hopefully the rest of today will run very smoothly.  I'm commissioner Cliff Rechkjawson, and I wanna welcome everybody.

Thank you for coming together today with us to discuss a lot of important issues, updates, information, and policies we're considering in our supplier diversity program and general order 156.  We've opened a rule making in this proceeding and we're looking at some important ideas for expanding and improving the program and as well as implementing the requirements of Senate Bill two fifty five.  As many folks know, that bill extended various provisions of General Order 156 to community choice aggregators and other electric service providers.  At the start, I'd like to thank the extremely hard working team that put this event together, that includes Stephanie Green and Drisha Melton, will be moderating the panel that you'll hear from later today, Our administrative law judge in this matter, Regina Neandelis, my advisor, Joanna Perez Green.  I'd also like to thank our Crack technical support team, Robert Stanford, Joe Hager for helping put this together.

Supplier diversity program is one of the CPUC's most important and signature programs.  It's one that we're extremely proud of, and one, that's been emulated by utilities throughout the country.  And it's really a landmark program and as important today as it was over 35 ago, over thirty years ago when it was established.  And I'm happy to say that over the life of the program, we've seen a steady increase in the opportunities provided to diverse businesses in the state.  At the 2020, roughly $12,500,000,000 in utility procurement was spent with diverse businesses.
