Committee House of Commons
00:03 - 00:46
Speaker 18
Order and welcome to this special session of the joint committee of Work and Pensions and Education Committee examining the delivery of the child poverty strategy. And it is such a special session because today we are joined by people who have experienced poverty in the past and who are going to give their views and thoughts about how we can ensure that this child poverty strategy will do what it says on the tin and which is to reduce child poverty. Can I go round and ask people who've joined us today to introduce themselves, just your first name if that's alright?
00:46 - 01:01
Speaker 6
Yeah, sure, I'm Caroline. I am from Northern Ireland. A wee bit about myself, I'm currently working as a classroom assistant and I am a mom of one currently sitting at home, so she is. Yep.
01:01 - 01:06
Speaker 15
Thank you, thank you so much. Johnny, do you want to...?
01:06 - 01:20
Speaker 5
Yes, Johnny Roberts. I'm a single dad, got two school-age children, live in Newbury and yeah, that's... I've trained as a teacher but I'm currently doing a master's degree and tutoring as well.
