Women and Equalities Committee Actual start House of Commons
11:00 - 11:20
Speaker 1
Good morning and welcome to the Women and Equalities Committee for our inquiry on cosmetic procedures. And we have two witnesses today, Ashton Collins and Nora Nugent. And I wonder if you would mind just before we get started each giving us a brief introduction. Ashton, if we could start with you?
11:20 - 11:42
Speaker 5
Yes, of course. My name is Ashton Collins and I'm one of the directors of an organisation called Save Face, which is a Professional Standards Authority accredited register for healthcare professionals who provide treatments like fillers and Botox. And we take each of those practitioners and their clinics through a 116-point assessment process to verify that they are safe and appropriate to provide these treatments.
11:42 - 11:44
Speaker 2
Thank you. Nora.
11:44 - 12:02
Speaker 4
I'm Nora Nugent. I'm a consultant plastic surgeon based in Tunbridge Wells. I'm the current president of BAAPS, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. And I have a reconstructive and aesthetic background, but I'm currently in full-time private practice focusing on aesthetic surgery.
