Industry and Regulators Committee House of Lords
00:03 - 00:47
Speaker 5
Good morning, and welcome to what is the second of our evidence sessions of this committee, which is the Industry and Regulators Committee. I'm Diana Hayter, and we're looking at the relationship between government and the defense and related industries. This is being broadcast on Parliament TV, I think it's called, and there will be a full transcript taken. You'll have a chance to look at that in case there's any corrections to that before it's then put on the website. But what I'd like to do, if you would just both introduce yourself first, and then we'll have some questions for you.
00:47 - 00:57
Speaker 6
Yes, thank you, Madam Chair. Good morning, everybody. I'm Scott McClelland, Corporate Director here at Tekever UK.
00:57 - 01:07
Speaker 3
Good morning, all. I'm Stewart Pearce, also from Tekever. I'm the Head of Regulations, Training, and Assurance, and the Director of West Wales Airport.

Speaker 5
Well, thank you, and thank you for coming today, because we do value the input that you're going to make to the work that we're doing. As you will know, and I'm sure you've read it lots of times, the last year's Strategic Defense Review called for the creation of a new partnership between the government and the defense industry. So we're interested to hear from you about what cultural and practical changes you think are needed from both sides of that relationship to provide a better partnership, and given your current relationship with the government, what you think needs to change, as I say, on both sides of that. So I don't know which of you would like to begin on that.
