Order, order.  Welcome to this afternoon's session of the Justice Select Committee in which the members of the committee will be questioning, taking evidence from the Attorney General, Lord Hermer, and the Solicitor General, Ms. Ellie Reeves.  So thank you very much both of you for attending.  Before we get into the questions, we need to do our declarations of interest, starting with Warinder Juss.
00:30 - 00:44
Speaker 2
Hello, good afternoon.  I'm Warinder Juss, Member of Parliament for Wolverhampton West.  I'm a solicitor but not practicing.  I'm a member of the GMB trade union executive council and a member of various APPGs and my other interests are on the register.
00:44 - 01:00
Speaker 19
Hello, nice to see you both.  I am Sarah Russell, I'm Member of Parliament for Congleton.  My interests are on the register, but particularly pertinent is the fact that I'm a solicitor with a current practicing certificate although not currently practicing.  I'm and I chair the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Access to Justice.
01:00 - 01:18
Speaker 5
I'm Andy Slaughter, I'm the chair of the committee, the Member of Parliament for Hammersmith and Chiswick.  I'm a non-practicing barrister and I'm patron of two justice-related charities, the Upper Room for ex-offenders and the Hammersmith Law Centre, and I'm a member of the GMB and Unite trade unions.
